Virtual tours – “Secrets of the camp – the unknown history of KL Auschwitz-Birkenau”

Virtual Tour (English)

We are pleased to announce the completion of our project titled “Secrets of the Camp – The Unknown History of KL Auschwitz-Birkenau,” funded by the National Centre for Culture under the “Culture on the Web” program. We cordially invite you to watch our series of films (virtual tours) about the lesser-known Memory Sites under the care of our Foundation.

In our films, we will present:

  • The building of the Women’s Penal Company (Frauen Strafkompanie) at KL Auschwitz – Bor/Budy,

  • The bathhouse building of the KL Auschwitz – Jawischowitz subcamp,

  • The Kameradschaftsheim der Waffen SS KL Auschwitz building, known as the SS Kitchen/Canteen, located in Oświęcim,

  • Two food storage buildings of KL Auschwitz-Birkenau, namely, the Fünf Kartoffellagerhalle und Krautsilos (commonly known as the Potato Stores and Sauerkraut Silos) located in Brzezinka at the Judenrampe,

  • A thematic exhibition about the operation of KL Auschwitz III – Monowitz, located in the Tourist Service Center building in Brzezinka.

Each of our films has been carefully prepared to showcase not only the architecture and operation of these individual buildings but also their history and role within the camp system. Through these materials, one can gain a better understanding of the mechanisms of the camp’s operation, the fate of its inhabitants, and the daily realities of life during those tragic times.

If you are interested in history, if facts matter to you, and if you want to learn about and visit historical Memory Sites that are rarely discussed, these films are for you. We invite you to delve into the unknown stories related to Auschwitz-Birkenau and its subcamps.

We encourage you to watch our films, which are available online and which we hope will serve as a source of knowledge and reflection for you. This is not only an opportunity to discover lesser-known facts and places but also a chance to gain a deeper understanding and remembrance of the victims and all that happened at KL Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Thanks to the support of the National Centre for Culture and the “Culture on the Web” program, we have the opportunity to share this important information with a wider audience, and we hope our virtual tours will be an inspiring experience for anyone who wishes to explore this significant part of our history.

Thank you for your interest in our project, and we invite you to join us in uncovering the secrets of the camp and participating in this important educational journey.
